Follow Zack Follett as he fights to make the Lions, sign a pro contract and make his NFL dreams come true.

So, it started when I got on my plane May 21st leaving the beautiful sunshine state of California on my way to Detroit. Hit the ground running with OTA's and then settled down for 2 weeks with just daily lifting and conditioning. All of this to get ready for mini camp. Mini camp was a great measuring tool to see how far I've come along and also to see what I need to improve.
Now I'm a out a month-and-a-half of straight living in a hotel room in Allen Park (They give you $350 every 2 weeks to live off of). Yeah, I thought reaching the NFL meant you got paid! Not yet! Now we're broken from camp and you get to see the vets and free agents go home while we boarded the plane to West Palm, FL for the rookie symposium. The symposium consists of a meeting that goes from 8a to 10p and covers every topic you can think of that will be apart of our life now that we have entered the NFL. I want to say it's a waste of time but all it takes is one bad decision to make you look like an idiot all over espn. I tried to grasp all the info I could from the people that have already been through it and take that back to Cali while I have these next 3 weeks off. I'm not too worried because I'm going to be taking all the positive steps I can to get on this roster!
Nothing comes easy in the life of a 7th rounder.
