A Cleveland native now has called Detroit home for the past 13 years. Matt Dery joined 97-1 The Ticket in March of 2009 after 12 years at WDFN. Dery anchors afternoon updates for The Ticket and will return for his 9th season as Pistons Pre-game, Half-time and Post-game Host. Dery's true on-air love is calling games and he has done the play-by-play for numerous Pistons radio games filling in for George Blaha and Mark Champion, and he has been the radio voice of the University of Detroit Mercy Titans the past 11 years. Dery has also been the fill-in voices of the Detroit Shock of the WNBA, the Detroit Fury of the AFL, and the Detroit Vipers of the IHL.
Matt started his professional broadcast career at WHK Radio in Cleveland right out of college and covered the 1995 Cleveland Indians as they made their run to the World Series. Dery has an obsession with that baseball team and watches nearly every game, much to the chagrin of his girlfriend Heather. Matt has also done work for the MSU Spartans football network, the Motor City Bowl network, Sportstime Ohio in Cleveland, and HSTV.
Dery loves spending time with his kids, Jace and Reese, and eating unhealthy food.
